Ever since i’ve had the power to are aware of it, i have been thinking concerning the English language. As a kid, i mayeither be writing, reading or telling stories and ever sine then, have read all types of both fiction and non-fiction texts from a number of genres and eras.

This passion for language has led me to a variety of additional-curricular activities. For the past 4years, i’ve attended a Youth Theatre each week where we concentrate greatly on both improvised and scripted drama but in addition have done work on stage management, stage make-up, singing, and signed singing (an interest which begun with my learning of both violin and double bass to grade 4 standard).

With this same organisation, i’ve volunteered for the past three years at one of the most youngsters’s groups where I work helping with drama, music and art. It was with this same organisation that i determined to be informed Sign Language.i’ve recently gained my British Sign Language Level 1 certificate and am now beginning a degree 2 course. i started learning Sign Language concurrently starting my A-Level in English Language and Literature, a course i’ve found extremely interesting. Taking these two courses concurrently was very exciting for me as learning more concerning the linguistics of the English Language enabled me to make comparisons between the 2 languages.

These interests have led me to this course which I not just feel suits my needs and that interests aptly, but in addition excites me in its course content. AlalthoughI’ve enjoyed all of my A-Level English Language and Literature course but have found a couple of portionsof it particularly interesting. I in particularenjoyed our coursework tasks for our AS Level because it included writing a work of original fiction, a sideof English which i’ve almethodsenjoyed. I also enjoyed the duty of performing a monologue as i’ve missed not with the ability to review drama as a subject matter.

i attempt to follow my interests outside of collegeand so attfinishall types of theatre productions, art exhibitions, musical performances and subject related lectures. When studying psychology last year, I attended a big psychology conference with a number of speakers which was both helpful and that interesting. Last year I also attended an ‘art master class’ organised with Middlesex University and with nine other students, it gave more opportunity for more detailed and that involved discussions. i do not have anyt yet had the possibilityto wait an English related lecture but look ahead to a readday in March in order to assist me with my readof Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra.

Alongside this and my voluntary work with the drama organisation, i’ve worked in a number of jobs that have all helped to develop my sense of responsibility because the y were depending on both teamwork and co-operation but in addition my use of initiative.i’ve chosen to defer my enattempt to two00fiveas I plan to enda voluntary teaching placement in Africa. the professionalspect of this placement excites me because it is going to offer me the possibilityto travel, to satisfy new people, to experience new cultures, and, especially, assistanceout where much assistance is wanted. i think that taking an opening year goes to benefitme greatly because it is going to allowme to realize valuable life skills in order to benefitme both at university but in addition in whatever i select to do following university whether it’s a postgraduate course or work.
